چکیده

Abstract In recent years, multi-level modeling has become more and popular. It is mainly due to the fact that aims reduce or even totally eliminate any accidental complexity inadvertently created as by-product in traditional model design. Moreover, besides reducing complexity, also improves on general comprehension of models. The key enablers are concepts clabjects deep instantiation. latter often governed by potency notion, which many different interpretations variations emerged over years. However, there exist some approaches disregard notion. Thus, tend take advantage theoretical practical backgrounds. this paper, we propose a unifying framework, Multi-Level Modeling Playground (MLMP), validating environment for research. MLMP based our multi-layer framework (the Dynamic Multi-Layer Algebra), provides useful mechanisms validate constructs. Since beyond structure well-formedness rules constructs can be specified, proposed delivers several benefits: i) always verified, ii) experimented with independently concrete tool chains, iii) relationships (i.e., correlations exclusions) between easily investigated practice. Also, capability demonstrated via complete examples inspired state-of-the-art research literature.

Comparison Criteria for Ontological Multi-Level Modeling

Ontological multi-level modeling refers to describing domain objects at multiple levels of abstraction. Using traditional semantic data modeling, multi-level modeling can be achieved by representing objects in different abstraction hierarchies, classification, aggregation and generalization. Multiple representation, however, leads to accidental complexity, complicating modeling and extension. S...

Multi Level Modeling for Engineering Design Optimization

Physical systems can be modeled at many levels of approximation The right model de pends on the problem to be solved In many cases a combination of models will be more e ective than a single model alone Our research investigates this idea in the context of en gineering design optimization We present a family of strategies that use multiple models for unconstrained optimization of engineering de...

A unified framework for multi-level modeling

With the growing importance of modeling in software engineering and knowledge engineering, and the accelerating convergence of these two disciplines through the confluence of internet-based software applications, the need for a simple, unified information modeling framework fulfilling the use cases of both communities has increased significantly over recent years. These use cases include switch...

Integrated frameworks for multi-level and multi-formalism modeling

There have been significant advances in methods for specifying and solving models that aim to predict the performance and dependability of computer systems and networks. At the same time, however, there have been dramatic increases in the complexity of the systems whose performance and dependability must be evaluated, and considerable increases in the expectations of analysts that use perform-a...

Comparing multi-level modeling approaches

As the range of modelling approaches that claim to be “multi-level” diversifies, there is growing debate in the literature about what multi-level modelling actually is and what form supporting languages and infrastructures should take. However, there is no consensus yet on how this debate should be framed and what objective criteria should be used to evaluate different approaches. It is clear f...
